In the midst of rejigged electoral processes occasioned by the President of Federal Republic of Nigeria, hundreds and thousands of young Nigerians are beginning to declare their intentions to represent their constituents, some are even doing so at the expenses of those deemed their greatest benefactors in the Political corridor, perceiving how serene the Political process can be ahead of the 2023 showdowns at the polls.

One must with sincere mind attempt the clear picture of what is happening between two Political heavyweights of the All Progressives Congress APC, the person of Professor Yemi Osinbanjo, the Vice President of Nigeria and Ahmed Bola Tinubu, the Former Lagos State Governor, both have indicate interests to represent Nigeria after the expiration of President Muhammad Buhariā€™ s tenure in 2023.

Bola Tinubu had in January this year informed President Muhammad Buhari of his age- long crave to lead the most populous black Nation on Earth, his declaration raise murky dust in Nigerian political landscape as many criticise the APC National Leader of trying to hijack other Aspirant chances of vying for the exalted seat of power.

Since Tinubuā€™ s declaration in January, Many Political watchers have opined that, Vice President Yemi Osinbanjo cannot wield a courage to run against the person that literarily brought him to Political limelight. These theories were finally rubished a couple of days ago as Vice President Yemi Osinbanjo finally takes bull by the horn in a six minutes video.

The Bone Of Contention

One can not easily underestimate the power Bola Ahmed Tinubu wields in the Southwest and Nigeria in General. Infact, some have in the time past, argued that the Lagos based Political guru has what it takes to install himself as the next President of Nigeria, judging from how he allegedly funded and nurture the ruling All Progressives Congress APC. On the other hand, Professor Yemi Osinbanjo who enjoys a cordial relationship with President Muhammad Buhari canā€™ t be underestimated also, as the issue of trust and capacity will be considered before thinking of whoā€™ ll succeed Muhammad Buhari in the next Presidential Elections in Nigeria.

The Buhari Factor

Those who seek to underestimate the power of a sitting President, do so at their own peril, he arguably controls the All Progressives Congress APC, Governors who control the deligates eligible to vote during primary Elections, if President Muhammad Buhari decides to support Prof Yemi Osinbanjo who has worked with him for seven years, then the Vice President is the closest person to succeed Muhammad Buhari.
On the contrary, if he decides to compensate Bola Ahmed Tinubu who was believed to be the brain behind his. Emergence as the President of Nigeria, then the Lagos based Politician will have a huge chance of clinching the Presidential seat.

Osinbanjoā€™ s Declaration And The Question Begging For Answer

Itā€™ s no longer news that, Professor Yemi Osinbanjo has indicated interest to lead Nigeria, but behind that are the seeds of question that may have neccessitated his Presidential declaration.

In real sense, itā€™ s extremely hard for a sitting Vice President to declare such intention without the consent of the President, considering the tact relationship that existed between the due, if thatā€™ s the case, does it mean Bola Ahmed Tinubu will not secure the All Progressives Congress Presidential ticket?
