Our problem largely is not the choice of a person to occupy a position of power or office. It is not even the type of language used to translate policy into action. Rather it is the idiosyncrasy used to make people understand the plan of action from start to finished.
Imagine a speech prepared and delivered from the most revered highest office like President or Governor misconstruing” ACADEMIC” for “academician”, “TOMORROW’S LEADER” for “leaders of tomorrow”. This not a grammatical blunder per say but the ability to mean what you say and saying what you mean makes you a leader with a difference if not you remain one of those leaders anytime, any day. The quality of education of a person in leadership position determines how far you can read with precision the body language of the followers

Why must the youth wait until tomorrow to lead? What about today? When does tomorrow begin?
Let there be no misunderstanding, as often as the youths are reminded that they are the leaders of tomorrow, they must also be reminded of the fact: that today is the tomorrow they were waiting for yesterday.

Calling the youths “leaders of tomorrow” has brought about the mindset that, they are incapable of making a change today, because it is not their time. It has also caused them to sit back and criticize the government etc. whom they see as the leaders of today and who should be held responsible for all the present societal malfunctions. It has made them look at the problems that we face in the community with the belief that someone else, not them, will fix it.
Being a leader, tomorrow, requires a vision today, and this vision, today, must be put to work for full actualization.
Grammatically speaking Youth are ‘ leaders of tomorrow” is incorrect.
The preposition “of” is used to combine two nouns when the first noun identifies the automatic or fixed feature of the second noun that you want to talk about.
“Leaders” + ” tomorrow” , do not share any features or attributes together as it is in “age” and “woman”
e.g ” The average age of the women interviewed was only 21.5. ”

However, the appropriate expression is “tomorrow’s leader”. Every single day is a mini-future. The apostrophe (‘) s mean one , singular in grammatical number. The tomorrow here is one and starts now. It means no other tomorrow but now and today not two or ten tomorrows.
From a politically correct perspective, “youths are leaders of tomorrow ” is a somewhat incorrect cliché. Because it sends a wrong signal to the youth that decision making, implementation and monitoring at the boardroom of governance remains a hope that cannot be fulfilled. For nobody knows when the tomorrow their name is automatically appended or stamped on it will come recognizing the simple reason they are not prepared for it from now.
