The presiding Judge of Mpape District Court, Maitama II, Abuja, has issued a bench warrant on one Mr Ideh Chukwuma, (OneSoul films) an acclaimed movie producer and director for allegedly defrauding a co-filmmaker Shirleyann Ede.
Mr Ideh was absent in court on December 8, 2020 for hearing of his trial, and his counsel told the court that he had no knowledge of his whereabout.
He is standing trial for fraudulently collecting 7 master copies of movies belonging to Shirleyann Ede, where he used same to collect money from different streaming platforms, without remittance to the producer.
Mr Ideh claimed to have established contractual agreements on distribution with Netflix, Nevada Bridge Tv, Airtel Tv and other online and conventional streaming platforms to market Shirleyann’s productions which turned out to be untrue. He presented false and doctored conversations with the aforementioned streaming platforms to further convince his victim of his planned treachery.
According to Shirleyann, she succumbed to ideh’s false claims and was convinced to part ways with the master copies of her productions.
Shehowever petitioned the EFCC, the Inspector General of Police and the Department of State Services (DSS), where he claimed to be affiliated to.
After the application for issuance of criminal summons made on behalf of the complaint by Tosin Ojaomo Esq. of Castle of Law was granted, a criminal summons was issued for the appearance of the defendant Mr. Ideh Chukwumah Innocent to appear at the court on the 11th of November, 2020. The defendant refused to appear but sent his lawyer Tunde Awe to appear on his behalf and the matter was adjourned to the 8th of December, 2020 for arraignment.
Mr. Ideh Chukwuma Innocent instead of appearing on the 8th day of December, 2020 wrote a letter to the court that he has an objection to the jurisdiction of the court without appearing before the court in obedience to the summons of the court.
Mr. Ideh Chukwuma Innocent has been involved in several criminal acts including defrauding several wannabe actors & filmmakers of millions and blackmailing them with a sex tape.
