THE EVIL COMMITTED AGAINST THE EMPLOYEES BY THE GOVERNMENT~~ Comr. Itodo Richest

After carrying out a thorough research on the Nigerian salary structure for her employees, it amazes me the huge unequalness in salaries and allowances across the various government ministries and parastatals. The differences are so huge that one will be forced to say the government is being bias with the salary structures layed for the various ministries, parastatals and agencies.

In most of the government ministries, graduates takes lesss than 80k as salaries while in some in fact people are being paid 50k as their monthly salaries. In another dimension, graduates working in some parastatals and agencies take home between 200k to 300k as the case may be as their monthly salaries aside some juicy allowances that comes with the job.

Remember in most cases this are graduates with the same BSc or MSc as the case may be , some have the same qualification in term of class of degree and in most cases it differs. A first class or second class graduate will be employed to work in a ministry and be paid 80k as salary whereas a third class graduate will be employed in a parastatal or agency and be paid 200k to 300k as monthly salary.

This uneven salary payments can make one to engage in corruption because you want to meet up with the standard of living of the person working and earning 300k per month as the case may be.

This uneven salary structure should be looked into by the government and a benchmark of salary placed across all ministries, parastatals and agencies to see that graduates across board have the same salary structure as this in a way will boost morale and increase effectiveness.
