Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State called for increased partnership between the government and churches, as well as other religious organizations to checkmate criminal activities in the state and protect the residents.
He also gave charge while receiving Christian leaders, led by the Edo State Chairman of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Bishop Oyenude Kure, on a courtesy visit at the Government House in the State capital. He pleaded the leaders to establish security committees, spread across the security grid to work with already existing security structures in the state, he emphasized the need to check criminal activities, especially during the festive period. On his part, Bishop Kure, while congratulating Governor Godwin Obaseki on his victory at the September 19 governorship election, he assured that they will continue to partner with the government to ensure they succeed on their people-oriented policies and projects.
