Social Critic, Comrade Usman Austin Okai says it is laughable for Yahaya Bello, Kogi State Governor to accuse politicians of using thugs to win election, even when the process that brought him as Governor in 2019, was through high level of thuggery.
Okai bare his mind on the statement credited to Kogi state Governor, over the use of thugs by politicians in Nigeria,stating that he is a product of thuggery through several killings,intimidation,harrassement, burning and maiming of political opponents.
He says if the above statement that emanated from Governor Yahaya Bello is confirm to be true,then he advise Kogi Governor to resign as the state Governor forthwith.
‘It is regrettable for politicians with Inordinate ambition like Kogi Governor, to make such inflammatory statement that all Nigerians in recent time have been using Kogi state as a reference point, from the November 16 Kogi election.’
‘It was only in Kogi that thugs were used freely to unleash several killings on innocent electorates from Kogi West,Kogi East and Kogi Central, because Kogi Governor was bent on returning to Lugard House by hook or crook.’
‘In the history of Kogi State,the majority tribe interms of number, suddenly became a minority as a result of electoral fraud, perpetrated by Kogi Governor in the central Senatorial district where he hails from,as there was no election,but results were merely written to buldoze him back to power’
‘How can a governor who conceded all government apparatus as his party members and use them to thumbprint ballot papers in Goverrment House,strategic places in the three Senatorial zones as special voting centres to drive home his Victory’
‘ A Governor that compromised all securtiy agencies in the country,using state funds to attract both fake and genuine security agents will have the gut to preach against thuggery is utterly decietful’
‘He has soon forgotten how police helicopters were hired to drop teargass in the state capital to scare away eligible voters, who trooped out enmasse to vote him out,does not deserve to be dignify with such statement’
‘This is a Governor that his hired and paid thugs burnt to ashes a PDP woman leader in Kogi state,yet did not take any action in the interest of Justice,has suddenly turned preacher against political crime’
‘Governor Yahaya Bello has soon forgotten how Kogi east became a battle ground to discourage voters from coming out to vote,while those that dared this illicit act were killed through the same guns acquired by both his imported,hired and indigenous thugs, to prosecute the last election.’
He urged Nigerians and kogites not to take Kogi Governor serious in such a sensitive issue bedeviling the country through his contrivances and singualr idea,saying it is a mere face saving measure.
Okai says Bello has soon forgotten the just few months away in the last Ondo Governorship election , where he mount the podium to sing an Ebira song, insinuating thugs to override the opposition, if they dare the APC in Ondo State.
‘The same Kogi Governor sold this thuggery idea to Ekiti,Osun,Kano,Edo,Anambara and Ondo State in the last Governorship election,should bury his head in shame.’
‘Kogi government hired thugs stormed the National Assembly to steal the mace,the symbol of authority , the Nation’s capital with thugs to harrass innocent protesters against maladministration of the current APC administration at the National level, cannot be a serious issue for public discourse.’
Okai says he has come to terms with the TVC man, Otitoju who opined that Kogi Governor should not be taken serious for any of his utterances, as he voice out whatever comes to his mouth.
