Today, the myth that Igala cannot make it to the National football team has been broken by Mustapha Benjamin, a son of yam farmer from Ala in Idah Local Government Area of Kogi State Who made the final list of Coach Fatai Amoo of the Nigerian National U-17 team Golden Eaglet to AFCON qualifier in Togo next month January 2021, according to AIO White Report.
Benjamin is a product of Kamar Football Academy of Idah Kogi State where he has played through all the stages from under 10 to the under 17.
Addressing the press, the head coach of Nigeria’s U17 National Team, the Golden Eaglets, Fatai Amoo named a final squad of 25 players with five other players on standby for next month’s U17 AFCON qualifiers.
According to the coach, the final squad has three goalkeepers, six defenders, nine midfielders and six attackers.

Notable among the players are the goalkeeper Saheed Jimoh, Victor Udoh and Mustapha Benjamin, a product of Kamar Football Academy of Idah.
The tournament kicks off on January 5 in Lome, Togo.
Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets are drawn against Ghana and Cote d’Ivoire in Group B.
The finalists of the qualifying will advance to the U17 AFCON in Morocco in July.

Speaking to Igala People’s Television in Idah, the Chairman/Technical Director of the prestigious Kamar Football Academy, Alh Kamar Abubakar express his satisfaction with the performance of his player and the decision of the National team to select him at the final stage. He is optimistic that Benjamin will play well and make the Igala nation proud.
