The Year 2020 was an eventful year indeed. If you are reading this, I want you to pause and tell God a deep heartfelt thank you for bringing you thus far!
This was the first time in nearly a 100 years that the world is collectively affected by a global health phenomenon: The pandemic.
As human beings, we so easily forget but 2020 reminded us of the impermanence in the affairs of man and in fact, the world as a whole. Personally, it taught me that when things can’t be helped or controlled, we must learn to endure and adapt. That in the midst of chaos and uncertainty, the only way to survive is to find Order within one’s self if only to escape the turbulence and find opportunities where possible.
The year 2020 also gave us the opportunity to have deeper connections with friends and families because for the first time in a while, where material possessions and activities could no longer offer solace, we were forced to turn to loved ones. If you were the type that used daily activities to escape the issues at home, I’m sure this year you were forced to confront them once and for all.
For me, especially during the lockdown where everyone was forced to be at home because the hustle and bustle of daily activities had come to a halt, I was able to see people from different perspectives that a normal period wouldn’t allow. In becoming aware of these newly observed attitudes of people around me, including their strengths and flaws, I was forced to do a self evaluation as well.
It made me realise that the misconceptions we have of people are because we project our expectations on them and when they end up showing us who they are, rather than who we want them to be, we end up disappointed.
We certainly need to be more accommodating and understanding of each other but the only way we can even achieve that, is if we understand ourselves and admit our own shortcomings.
I am grateful to God for bringing us all this far and giving me an unswerving faith.
To HIM, I shall always lean on!
May 2021 be a greater year for us all in all aspects of our lives. We deserve happiness and prosperity, and we shall get it this year by God’s special grace!
I wish you all a divinely beautiful, healthy, Secured and Prosperous New Year!❤❤❤🥰
