Dr. Godwin Maduka, PDP Governorship Aspirant in the forthcoming Anambra State Governorship election received a group of vibrant and enterprising youths in his office at Awka yesterday. They were the Onitsha-Ado Solid State Movement. He used the forum to formally intimate them of his ambition to Govern Anambra State as well as change the plights of the Nigerian youths, especially Anambra youths.
They had fruitful discussions and shared a lot of ideas, visions and they also jointly proffer practicable solutions to the challenges facing the youths in our present day society.
Dr. Godwin Maduka assured them that with their unalloyed support before, during and after the election, that they would collectively make Anambra better and restore their lost glory.
According to Dr. Godwin Maduka ” I was shocked to my bone marrows, when I heard these youths rolling out practicable plans on how to redirect the leadership of Anambra State. They told me something that made me shade tears, they said in unison “Doc, we are rooting for you, not because of your money or any other thing, but because we have done critical analysis and we have taken quality time to do a research about you and your antecedents. We have seen the numerous things you have done to help humanity and we came to the conclusion that, if an individual can do all these with his personal funds, that we can trust such individual with public funds”.
Again, they posited “Seeing how you have managed resources, both human and material resources in your different endeavors and of course your giant strides in your medical practice and in business, you have really made Ndi Anambra vis-à-vis Igbo race proud”.
The brilliant youths showed him the list of things they will use to support him and he was speechless. They are currently branding their vehicles with Dr. Godwin Maduka face, insignia and transformational message to Anambra State people . They have also erected billboards in some strategic places with Dr. Godwin Maduka insignia and transformational message to Anambrarians, they have as well taken over the social media space preaching and disseminating his goodwill messages and intentions to Ndi Anambra and many other subtle things they are doing to support his mandate.
In a statement by Dr. Godwin Maduka ” One remarkable thing about this group was that, they told Dr. Godwin Maduka pointedly, “Doc, we do not require a dime from you.” This is quite the opposite of what I see and encounter everyday here, different people or groups coming everyday to ask for money. The point is this, when we keep collecting money from politicians and they eventually get into the public office, they are bound to recoup all those monies they spent at the expense of the masses. That is why many of our leaders hardly perform or work.
I keep telling Ndi Anambra that this election is not about Dr. Godwin Maduka, it is about saving Anambra State and her populace. It is about restoring Anambra to it’s rightful place and position in the comity of progressive states in the world. It is about the masses reclaiming their rights and making a bold statement this time, saying ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.
