The Former Commissioner of Finance and Governorship aspirant of the People’s Democratic Party in the last gubernatorial election in Kogi State, Hon. Zakari Alfa has congratulated the entire Muslim Ummah on the successful completion of Ramadan, a very sacred month of sober reflection and spiritual realignment where the adherents of Islam are expected to show unalloyed dedication and commitment to the service of God and humanity. Although, the Ramadan fasts have ended , we are advised to sustain the lessons learned and ensure the judicious application of the morals in our interpersonal relationship with people.
He gave this indication on the eve of Eid el Fitr in his Abuja residence when a group of Ullamah led by Sheikh Mustapha Abdulkadir paid him a courtesy visit to break the fast with him who encouraged him to sustain his magnanimity to mankind and his act of piety to the Almighty Allah which is considered a significant attribute of a true Moslem.
In his brief message to the group after thanking them immensely for identifying with him, he advised them to remain consistently prayerful considering the degenerating security and economic challenges presently bedeviling the country which, according to him appear bizarre but not insurmountable if we are sincerely united and committed in supplications to our creator.
According to Hon. Zakari Alfa ” It will be a serious disaster if we cowardly capitulate in our collective resolve to remain resilient in spirituality in the face of a frightening adversity by a group of criminal elements who have chosen to make the nation a constant theatre of crises which has profiled the nation in negativity “.
However , Sheikh Mustapha who extolled the leadership qualities of Hon. Alfa implored him not to relent in his acts benevolence stating that God almighty who gave him such rare privilege to help the downtrodden will always be there for him at his point of needs.
Hon. Zakari Alfa equally used the opportunity to pray for the people of Kogi State for their patience and their unwavering support for his aspiration noting that better days are ahead.
In his vote of thanks, he urged the people of Kogi State to show love to one another but most fundamentally sustain the interreligious tolerance which has never eluded the state as we have demonstrated over the years the capacity to manage our differences and coexist peacefully without any form of consciousness or agitation for religious supremacy. Congratulations to all Muslims across the state and I wish you a wonderful Eid el Fitr celebration.
