It was a gathering of dignities and traditional fathers today in Okpo, the headquarters of the Olamaboro Local Government Area of Kogi State as the Ejeh of Olamaboro and Chairman of the Olamaboro Traditional Council, Chief Simeon Ujah, conferred chieftancy titles on the Deputy Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly, Hon. Ahmed Mohammed and Minister of State (Federal Ministry of Mines and Steels Development) Dr. Chief Uchechukwu S. Ogah on the occasion of the 50th birthday of the traditional ruler.
The event anchored by Igala Nollywood star Tom Makolo Jnr was chaired by the Deputy Governor of Kogi State, Chief Edward Onoja, who offered a blissful opening prayers.
The Deputy Speaker, Hon. Ahmed was welcomed to Olamaboro with a moumot crowd who gathered from the entrance of the city to the palace of Ejeh.
In his entourage were also group of supporters of the Governor Yahaha Bello to President Yahaha Bello movement, who came in all white caps carrying inscriptions calling for the transition of the Governor of Kogi State to presidency in 2023.
The height of the event was a behind closed doors titling rites of Hon. Ahmed and a representative of the Hon. Minister. The duo crowned chiefs were thereafter presented to the public in their traditional attires confirming their new titles.
It is said that the title “Abénéche” Ejeh conferred on Hon Ahmed is a confirmation of his contribution to community development and youth empowerment. Some of his achievements including housing of people with disabilities with a befitting modern House in Ankpa, Water for All Project where about 16 communities were provided with bore holes and modern water system, Offering of Scholarships to Students and Young People, Rehabilitation of Roads across Ankpa, renovation of Onu Ankpa Palace, Building of Schools, donation of hospital equipment among many other strides.
Chief Simeon was also honoured by the Students of Law Faculty of the Prince Audu Abubakar University where the chief is said to undergoing schooling in law profession in his quest for further education and modern traditional system.
Reacting to the show of love showed by the people of Ankpa who came in large number to support their representative, the Deputy Governor said he is proud of the people, urging other Local Governments to emulate Ankpa in celebrating and supporting one another.
