Kogi State political terrain has today witnessed a new twist as Barrister Natasha, drags Kogi State Governor to court over comments linking the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Kogi Central senatorial candidate to terrorist attacks in the country.
According to multiple reports, Natasha Akpoti, who felt defamed by Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello, seeks ₦5 billion in defamatory damages via Falana & Falana’s chambers.
It can be recalled that, the state government, through Kingsley Fanwo, the commissioner of information, alleged that the Kogi Central senatorial candidate had direct connection with one Mr Shafiu, who was said to have participated in the Owo massacre and the Kuje prison break, respectively.
Natasha, who appeared in different media a couple of days ago to debunk and refute the claim, has, however, filed a suit against the Governor.
The two politicians, Barrister Natasha Akpoti, and Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello, have been at political loggerheads since 2018, and this could well mean another dimension to the long-spanned political rivalry.
