Uncertainty seems to be brewing in the camp of Kogi State deputy governor, Chief Edward David Onoja, as Hon Jamiu Asuku, the chief of staff to Alhaji Yahaya Bello visited the All Progressives Congress, APC, Secretariat to pick a gubernatorial expression of interest form today.
This came barely 24 hours after the Kogi State deputy governor, Chief Edward Onoja, took to his official Facebook page to thank Yahaya Bello for having deemed him worthy of trust. The post was largely interpreted even amongst his supporters to mean a greenlight to succeed the governor.
But the recent activity by the Chief of staff has thrown everyone in the camp into unnecessary research as reports from other quarters are tipping the Chief of staff to succeed the current occupant.
Undoubtedly, Edward Onoja has been hatching a bid to succeed his boss, governor Yahaya Bello. The next stage of kogi’s political development provides such an opportunity but, now under threats as Chief Jamiu Asuku takes the bull by the horn.
Although the Kogi State deputy governor is yet to pick his intent/nomination form, insiders are optimistic he’ll make the move in coming days.
It’s now clear that the deputy governor has an uphill task in the bid to succeed his boss, considering the Chief of staff’s interest in the seat. This has caused uncertainty in the deputy governor’s camp.
