At the ongoing legal battle between the SDP and APC, holding at the National Judicial Institute, a forensic expert presented his report in court, causing objections from the counsels representing Ododo and the APC. The opposing counsels argued that they had received the documents only the day before and needed more time to review them.
Despite the objections, the tribunal chairman ruled in favor of the SDP and Muritala Yakubu Ajaka, allowing the expert to tender his report and be cross-examined. Surprisingly, during the cross-examination, the counsels representing the APC, INEC, and Ododo were impressed with the expert’s response and the methodologies used in his analysis.
The forensic expert, who had been tasked by the petitioner, with examining and analyzing all the documents and ballot papers used in the Kogi State Governorship election held on November 11, 2023, including the BVAS system. The analysis revealed fraudulent thumbprints on the ballot papers, with multiple ballot papers being thumbprinted by a single individual whose identity was identified through their thumbprints.
This revelation has instilled fear and heightened tension among the APC and its sympathizers present in court. It further exposes the extent of electoral malpractice committed in Kogi Central.
In a related development, the counsel representing the SDP, Okutekpa SAN, applied to close the petitioners’ witnesses, expecting the APC to provide a defense and prove how they actually won the election. He also emphasized the urgency of putting an end to the destruction or burning of witnesses’ houses in Kogi Central.
Today’s hearing primarily focused on determining the admissibility of the ballot papers which were fraudulently used in Okene, Okehi, Adavi and Ajaokuta LGA.
