Chief Ogah Mark Okpanachi, Chairman of Anarok Global Limited and Chairman, Board of Trustees, Humanitarian Volunteer Project for Africa announced plans to facilitate the establishment of Legal Aid Council offices in Kogi East.
The initiative, according to Chief Ogah Mark, aims to provide free legal services and representation to indigent and less privileged individuals who cannot afford legal counsel. Beyond its legal significance, the project is also expected to create employment opportunities and strengthen the justice system within the region.
Speaking on the development, Chief Ogah Mark emphasized his unwavering dedication to justice and human rights, noting that access to justice should not be determined by one’s financial status.
“As part of my continuous commitment to community development and social justice, I am taking steps to facilitate the establishment of Legal Aid Council offices in Kogi East,” he said.
“This initiative is very close to my heart because I believe that justice should never be a privilege but a right for everyone, regardless of financial status. The Legal Aid Council offices will help provide free legal services and representation to the indigent and less privileged who cannot afford a lawyer. Beyond that, it will also create employment opportunities and strengthen the legal and social fabric of our communities.”
In addition to the Legal Aid initiative, Chief Ogah Mark is also spearheading a partnership with the Legal Aid Council to assist inmates across Kogi State who have been discharged but remain incarcerated due to their inability to pay fines.
So far, over fifteen (15) inmates from the Kuje Correctional Centre have been released through his intervention, with fines fully covered and post-release support provided to aid their reintegration into society.
“This effort is about restoring hope, promoting fairness, and giving people a second chance. Everyone deserves the opportunity to rebuild their lives, and access to justice is a key part of that process,” he added.
“I remain grateful to God and to everyone who continues to support these humanitarian initiatives. Together, we can keep building a society where justice, compassion, and opportunity are accessible to all.”
Chief Ogah Mark Okpanachi has long been celebrated for his philanthropic commitments and humanitarian leadership, with this latest initiative reaffirming his position as a true champion of justice and equity in Kogi State and beyond.
Naija Reality News gathered that preparations are already underway to engage relevant legal and governmental stakeholders to ensure the smooth takeoff of the Legal Aid Council offices in Kogi East , a project expected to make a lasting impact on access to justice for thousands across the region.
