The Chief Executive Officer of Crush Café Abuja, renowned philanthropist and community development advocate, Idris Hussein, popularly known as Idris HK has officially declared his intention to contest for the Senatorial seat of Kogi East in the forthcoming 2027 general elections under the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

Speaking exclusively to Naija Reality News Correspondent in Abuja, Idris HK disclosed that his decision to join the race was born out of a deep desire to serve his people, attract meaningful development, and consolidate the progress he has been privately championing across Kogi East for several years.
“My motivation is simple, service to humanity. Over the years, I have used my personal resources to support widows, empower youths, and sponsor community projects. But the truth is, private philanthropy can only go so far. I am offering myself for public service so I can reach more people and address issues from a legislative angle,” he said.
Idris HK is no stranger to the people of Kogi East. Beyond his thriving hospitality and entertainment business in Abuja, he has established a reputation for touching lives across the nine local government areas of the senatorial district. His numerous empowerment ranging from rural community support and educational sponsorship have endeared him to many.
From sponsoring medical outreaches to providing boreholes in rural communities, Idris HK has demonstrated that genuine leadership begins with compassion and commitment. Many Kogites view his foray into politics as a natural extension of his long-standing philanthropic mission.
In recent times, Kogi East has yearned for youthful, visionary, and credible representation at the National Assembly — one that prioritizes human capital development, entrepreneurship, and grassroots empowerment. Idris HK’s declaration has been received with excitement among youths and community stakeholders who see him as a bridge between the old and emerging generations.
A close associate of the philanthropist described his political ambition as “a mission, not an ambition.” According to him, Idris HK has done more for Kogi East without holding any office than many politicians have done in decades. His coming into the Senate race will definitely change the political equation. “The people know his capacity, and his track record speaks volumes,” he added.
Idris HK noted that his vision for Kogi East is anchored on legislative advocacy for development, economic empowerment, and social inclusion. He stressed that his entry into politics will not be driven by self-interest but by the collective yearning for progress and dignity of his people.

“We need to shift focus from politics of survival to politics of development. I have seen what our people go through — poor infrastructure, lack of opportunities, youth unemployment, and declining social welfare. I believe I can use the legislative platform to make a greater impact,” he affirmed.
Already, consultations are ongoing across communities in Idah, Dekina, Ankpa, Olamaboro, Ofu, Bassa, Igalamela-Odolu, Ibaji, and Omala local government areas, with several youth and women groups drumming support for his senatorial ambition.
Many community leaders, traditional rulers, and political stakeholders have lauded his courage and commitment to the people, describing him as a breath of fresh air and a potential game-changer for the Kogi East political landscape.
With the 2027 elections fast approaching, Idris HK’s declaration under the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) adds a new dimension to the Kogi East senatorial race. His antecedents in humanitarian work, coupled with his youthful energy, business acumen, and grassroots appeal, position him as one of the most promising aspirants to watch.
As the political atmosphere begins to heat up, observers believe that Idris Hussein (Idris HK) embodies the qualities of a modern legislator — innovative, empathetic, and people-centered.
“If given the mandate, I will not only represent Kogi East; I will redefine what representation means — service, transparency, and development,” he concluded confidently.
