The third day of activities marking the 2nd Year Anniversary of Distinguished Senator Natasha Hadiza Akpoti-Uduaghan’s stewardship in the 10th Senate unfolded in grand style at Osara, Adavi Local Government Area, where the Senator commissioned new model primary and secondary schools at the Fulani Settlement, a landmark project that underscores her unrelenting commitment to inclusive education and rural development in Kogi Central Senatorial District.

The newly commissioned educational complex, facilitated by the Senator, stands as a beacon of hope for children in the underserved Fulani community, bridging the decades-long gap in access to quality education. The project, executed under her constituency intervention program, mirrors Senator Natasha’s vision of ensuring that every child, regardless of background or geography, has an equal opportunity to learn, dream, and succeed.
Addressing a jubilant crowd of parents, community leaders, and education stakeholders, Senator Natasha reaffirmed her belief that education remains the most potent weapon for social transformation. She noted that for too long, nomadic and rural children had been denied access to formal education due to geographical isolation and systemic neglect — a narrative she vowed to change through deliberate legislative advocacy and targeted constituency projects.
“Education must not be a privilege; it is a right. I want every child — whether from Okene, Adavi, Ajaokuta, Okehi, or Ogori-Magongo — to have a chance to learn in a safe, modern, and dignified environment. That is what this project represents,” Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan declared amid applause.
The Senator’s words echoed through the air, stirring emotions among residents who had, for years, longed for such an intervention. The joy on the faces of the children, many seeing a modern classroom for the first time, painted a vivid picture of transformation in motion.
Day 3 of the Senator’s anniversary week continues the crescendo of groundbreaking events that have defined her two-year tenure. Following the massive commissioning of 67 industrial motorized boreholes and solar streetlights across Kogi Central on Days 1 and 2, the Osara school project marks yet another milestone in her people-first leadership philosophy.
From empowerment programs for widows and youths to solar-powered electrification, health interventions, and infrastructure renewal, Senator Natasha’s two-year scorecard reads like a compendium of service, sacrifice, and strategic impact. Her deliberate focus on rural integration and gender inclusion has earned her widespread admiration and set a benchmark in participatory representation.
In their goodwill remarks, community leaders, traditional rulers, and representatives of the Fulani settlement poured encomiums on the Senator for her vision and compassion. Alhaji Adamu Sulaiman, a local leader, described her as “a mother with a heart of gold who remembers the forgotten.” Similarly, Mrs. Maimuna Yusuf, a parent, emotionally remarked, “Before today, our children used to trek long distances to attend schools in neighboring towns. Now, they have a school they can call their own, thanks to Senator Natasha.”
Beyond bricks and mortar, the Osara commissioning is symbolic , it represents Senator Natasha’s effort to rebuild not just schools, but also confidence, dignity, and opportunity among marginalized groups. Her leadership has transcended political partisanship, focusing instead on empowerment, education, and equity.
In two years, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has proven that leadership is not about titles but transformation and from the looks of it, the story of Kogi Central is only just beginning.
