The Rector of Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja, Professor Salisu Ogbo Usman, has dismissed claims circulating on social media alleging that bandits invaded the institution in the early hours of Thursday.

Speaking to reporters, Professor Ogbo described the reports as completely false and maliciously designed to cause panic within the academic community. He insisted that both the Lokoja and Itakpe campuses remain peaceful and secure.
> “There is no bandit in Kogi Poly. It is their usual lies. We are currently inaugurating the newly elected SUG leaders,” he stated.
The Rector further called on parents, students, and members of the public to disregard the rumour and refrain from spreading unverified information capable of disrupting the academic environment.
He reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to ensuring maximum security across its campuses while urging all stakeholders to continue with their normal activities without fear.
The Polytechnic management has vowed to take necessary measures to prevent the spread of false alarms targeted at undermining the institution’s progress and reputation.
