The General Manager of Kano Pillars Football Club, Ahmed Musa MON, OON, has issued a heartfelt apology following the violent and disgraceful scenes that marred his team’s match against Shooting Stars Sports Club on Sunday evening. The former Super Eagles captain described the incident as “heartbreaking, shameful, and completely unacceptable,” emphasizing that it does not reflect the true values and proud history of Kano Pillars FC.

In an emotional statement released on Monday, Ahmed Musa expressed deep regret over the actions that disrupted the game, noting that the behavior of a few had brought embarrassment to the club, its fans, and Nigerian football as a whole.
“What transpired against Shooting Stars is heartbreaking, shameful, and completely unacceptable. It does not represent the true values, identity, or proud history of Kano Pillars. This club has always stood for community, passion, and respect — values that must never be overshadowed by violence or indiscipline,” he stated.
Musa extended an unreserved apology to the players, coaches, and supporters of Shooting Stars Sports Club, as well as to the match referees, league officials, and the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) board and its partners at GTI. He also apologized to every football fan in Nigeria and beyond who witnessed the disturbing scenes.
“I know how painful it must have been to witness something so damaging to our game, and I am deeply, deeply sorry,” he said. “Violence has no place in football. It is unacceptable, unjustifiable, and goes against everything this beautiful sport stands for.”
The Kano Pillars boss assured that the club will collaborate closely with relevant authorities to identify and sanction all individuals responsible for the chaos, promising that firm disciplinary measures will follow.
“Apologies alone are not enough. Words must be followed by action. We will take major internal steps to ensure that something like this never happens again,” Musa pledged.
Addressing the club’s fans directly, the Nigerian international reminded them that Kano Pillars’ reputation as one of the nation’s most respected football clubs must be protected through discipline, not violence.
“To our loyal fans, I want to speak directly to you — Kano Pillars is a proud club with a rich legacy, and you are the heartbeat of this club. But true support is shown not through violence, but through respect, passion, and discipline,” he said. “This must be a turning point for us. We must remind the world that our love for this club can be powerful without being destructive.”
Ahmed Musa concluded his statement by reaffirming the club’s commitment to rebuilding its image and restoring confidence among stakeholders and football lovers across the country.
“On behalf of Kano Pillars Football Club, I offer my most heartfelt and unreserved apology to everyone affected — the NPFL, Shooting Stars, the referees, and the fans of Nigerian football. We take full responsibility and will do everything necessary to restore trust, respect, and the true spirit of football in Kano and across Nigeria.”
The Sunday clash between Kano Pillars and Shooting Stars SC had ended in chaos after some fans reportedly invaded the pitch, leading to violence and destruction. The NPFL management is expected to take disciplinary action as investigations continue.
