Chief Dr. Ogwu James Onoja, SAN, and his wife, Chief Rosemary Onoja,ACCA, ACA, were seen kneeling for his His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, the Executive Governor of Kogi State, passionately appealing for the construction of the Ofante decapitated road.
The emotional plea took place during the official ceremony upgrading the Civil Defence outpost in the area to a Divisional Headquarters, an event that attracted community leaders, government officials, and residents from across Kogi State.
Speaking during the occasion, Chief Ogwu James Onoja, a distinguished Senior Advocate of Nigeria and respected community leader, described the Ofante road as the community’s most pressing infrastructural challenge. He explained that the absence of a functional road has long hindered mobility, trade, and development in the area.
“This road has been our greatest concern. It connects vital communities and markets, and constructing it will transform the economic fortunes of our people,” Chief Onoja passionately appealed.
He further highlighted the economic significance of the road, noting that its construction would enhance agricultural activities, facilitate access to markets, and attract investment opportunities that could uplift the entire region.
Governor Usman Ododo, visibly touched by the humility and sincerity of Chief Onoja and his wife, assured the gathering that his administration remains committed to providing sustainable infrastructure across the state. He pledged to give the Ofante road project due consideration in the government’s forthcoming development plans.
