In what appears to be a counterargument, the Caretaker Chairman of the Dekina Local Government Area, Hon. John Urah Ikani, has this morning debunked the stories making the rounds that he masterminded the abrupt sales of properties belonging to the Dekina local government.
John Urah Ikani, during a podcast with correspondence from Naija Reality News, gave exclusive insight into the story that appears to be misleading the members of the public.
Hon. John Urah Ikani was quoted as saying that the current happenings are a pure attempt to truncate my quest to emit the dividends of democratic governance to my people. They attempted this same strategy even before I became the caretaker chairman of the Dekina local government area.
The alerts and evidence of payment in circulation didn’t emanate from me, as they did not carry my name or the name of the Dekina local government.
This goes to show how fake and fraudulent the story is, and I sincerely urge the members of the public to debunk the dubious stories making the rounds about me, he continued.
I am passionate and concerned about the need to serve my people to the best of my ability. I am less concerned about those whose only job is to tarnish my image and reputation. I cannot be distracted from carrying out my constitutional duties, and those perpetrators need to understand this.
In an unusual outburst, Hon. John Urah Ikani opined that while he is passionate about bringing development closer to the people, he will not tolerate attempts to jettison his name and reputation, adding that those masterminds of the fake should learn to desist as he may be forced to take legal action on them in less than no time.
Hon. John Urah Ikani was appointed to serve as caretaker chairman by the former governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, about six months ago, and has since distinguished himself as the best-performing local government administrator in the 21 local government areas of the state.
