Residents of Ochi Attah community in Ankpa Suburb II have expressed renewed hope as Prince Gowon Enenche, popularly known as G-One, an aspirant for the House of Representatives seat representing Ankpa, Omala, and Olamaboro Federal Constituency under the Social Democratic Party (SDP), has commenced the installation of solar-powered streetlights in the area.

The initiative, which is aimed at addressing the longstanding issue of poor visibility and insecurity in the community, marks what the aspirant described as “a practical step toward restoring dignity and safety to neglected communities.”

Speaking during his visit to the community, Prince Enenche said his decision was driven by firsthand experience of the people’s living conditions.

“The plight of underdeveloped communities within the Ankpa Federal Constituency is often spoken of, but seeing is believing. Yesterday, I traveled from Abuja to the Ochi Attah community in Ankpa Suburb II to witness their reality firsthand,” he stated.

He painted a grim picture of the situation, noting that arriving at night exposed the depth of infrastructural neglect.

“Arriving under the cover of night only further illuminated the challenges: dilapidated roads and a pervasive darkness that these resilient people have been forced to accept as their fate. It is disheartening to witness a community that feels forgotten by the very machinery of government meant to serve them,” he added.

The SDP aspirant emphasized that despite advancements in renewable energy, communities like Ochi Attah still lack basic amenities.

“In an era where solar technology is commonplace, Ochi Attah remains without basic illumination or clean water,” he lamented.
Announcing immediate action, G-One declared that the installation of solar streetlights would begin without delay.

“This neglect ends now. I have directed the immediate installation of solar streetlights in the community to restore safety and hope,” he affirmed.

Prince Enenche further assured constituents that the intervention is only the beginning of a broader development agenda, contingent on their support in the 2027 National Assembly elections.

“This is just the beginning. With your mandate, every community across Ankpa, Omala, and Olamaboro will experience the tangible, positive impact of proactive leadership,” he said.

He concluded by calling for collective commitment to transformative governance.

“We are not just seeking an office; we are seeking a transformation. Let us transcend the status quo and deliver the true dividends of democracy together.”

Community members who witnessed the development expressed optimism that the project would improve security, enhance night-time economic activities, and signal a new era of responsive leadership in the constituency.
