A group known as Kogi Movement for Good Governance (KMGG) has cautioned the Deputy Governor of Kogi state Chief Edward Onoja, Chief of Staff to The Executive Governor of Kogi state Mr. Abdulkareem Asuku Jamiu and other aspirants from the state to concentrate on issue based campaigns instead of sending out some paid youths to peddle lies and fake news against the frontline candidate Hon. Murtala Yakubu Ajaka who is the Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the party.

The group made this statement known to the public early hours of today Sunday, 26th March 2023, to caution aspirants who are peddling lies just to set their perceived opponent against the public to cause unneeded crisis in Kogi state.

The president of the group, Comrade Abayomi Olobatoke who expressed disappointment on how most of the Kogi state government appointees contesting for the same office with Hon. Ajaka have reduced themselves to peddlers of lies and using youths who they have every opportunity to empower to mere social media boys for fake news. He urged the likes of Mr Asuku and Onoja to desist from this act and concentrate their campaign on issue based rather than trying to smear the image of an aspirant who they see as a threat to their aspirations.

He clearly stated that there are alot of evidences on several attempts on the lives of party stakeholders and the use of The Department of State Security DSS to arrest Ajaka Ward1 EXCO members who were on their way to Abuja yesterday to show solidarity and support for their own Hon. Ajaka. He stated that they also used so many social media blogs and WhatsApp platforms to spread fake news about Hon. Ajaka.

One of the many evidences we have is where Mr Asuku sent people to spread fake news against Hon. Ajaka is attached here and many more to come where Edward also separately involved in similar activities against his own brother Hon. Ajaka, Abayomi stated.
After the whole attempts to suspend Hon. Ajaka failed, they resulted it to going low by saying if not for the governor, that Hon. Ajaka would not have gone through the screening, whereas they ignorantly forgot that the state party EXCO does not have the powers to suspend an NWC member.

You will recall that several attempts were made by Mr. Asuku and some Igalamela Local Government Party members who are loyal to Mr. Asuku and Onoja, the likes of Commissioner for Transport Hon. Baron Okwoli, Hon. Friday Sani Makama, Hon. Patrick Onogu, Hon. Onoja Ignatus the executive chairman of Igalamela and few others teamed up themselves in an office in Lokoja to forcefully get all the Igalamela party EXCO to sign another document to perfect the fraudulent suspension of Hon. Ajaka but all proved abortive. They devised another means to arrest Ajaka Ward1 party EXCO on their way to Abuja where Hon. Ajaka had his screening yesterday and also failed.

They have been advised to concentrate on wooing the party members to vote for them in the forthcoming direct primaries instead of intimidating, arresting and peddling of lies against Hon. Ajaka.

Failure to stick to issue based campaign will jeopardize the chance for peace we have enjoyed in the state, president of KMGG added.
