As drama continues to ensue at the ongoing Kogi State Election Petition Tribunal, holding in Abuja, the APC continues to finds itself engulfed in panic as the legal team again fails to present any witnesses during the ongoing tribunal. This unexpected move has left the party and Usman Ododo scrambling to salvage its defense, presenting minimal evidence before swiftly closing their case.

Recall that yesterday, counsel to the first respondents (INEC) failed to present witnesses and promised to make them available today. However, it was a dramatic twist, as they couldn’t present anyone but rather, present limited evidences to plead their case. Barr. Uchena (INEC) told the court that he is only ready to present BVAS identification list of Okehi, Ajaokuta, Bassa, Ogorimango, Adavi, Okene and Lokoja LGA respectively. However, Counsel to the petitioner, PA Akubo SAN objected to some LGA not covered by their petition, but promise to address the court on it.

This unforeseen development has placed the APC in a precarious position, as the tribunal scrutinizes their arguments and demands substantive proof to support their claims.

Overall, the lack of witness testimonies and the minimal defense presented by Ododo has cast a dark cloud over the APC’s prospects in the ongoing tribunal. The First respondents (INEC) However closes it’s defense today.

Case had been adjourned to tomorrow 17th April, 2024 for the Second respondent, Usman Ododo to tell the court how he won the election.
